Bio

Javier Pulido Gándara, also known as MonsterTruck!!! (Azcapotzalco, Mexico 1980).

Born to a modest family of butchers, meat curers and pork handlers, musicians, geniuses, drug abusers and manipulative people, he showed an affinity for drawing and fantasizing from an early age; his first lines were done at the age of three, pigs (dead or alive) being his favorite models.

He started painting at 12, at 15 did it with ease, and in the same year he began working in an oil painting atelier. His pictorial formation has resulted from an ongoing exploration of the great masters through the reproduction of their works for the decoration market. This reason generated several skills which he developed in his painting techniques and styles.

This situation led him to give a different focus, while studying at university, to the traditional media. He devoted to study conceptualism, actions, video, installation, sculpture, etc.

In 2004 he began his career in the visual arts with "Gordo", a series of actions recorded in video in which five obese celebrities  evidence the clichés and stereotypes of big people in the mass media.

In the same year began the Patrick Mallow project, which is extensive work that integrates technical knowledge of painting that had developed since childhood along with new media training obtained in college.

To date he continues exploring and  integrating various traditional ways and avant-gardes of the visual arts.

He lives and works in Guadalajara; Zamora, Michoacán; Mexico City; Nashville, TN; London, UK and Dublin, Ireland.
